Dear Forum friends, I have a Perkins 4108 with a 2.57/1 gearbox turning a 18x14 3 blades prop on a 52ft sailboat/42ft waterline. I would like to repower and I am interested in your ideas. Going thru the posts,I saw one from Stanley suggesting the Beta 43. My concern is about space in the engine compartme...

My 1 year old Beta 38 is using zincs completely up in about 1 month. That seems a touch excessive The only electrical connections to the engine are the positive and negative cables, put right where Bud Taplin told me to put them. I have a drive saver. Prop zinc usage is normal. Most of the past 8 months...

just wondering if the BEta 20 comes with the engine oil "full".. I could swear it was full...but now that its aligned and in..its sits at an angle... the oil fill is now down about 1/3...I am now 2nd guessing if it was actually full// wondering if the betas come "pre-checked" wit...

Time to replace the Atomic 4. My Columbia 8.7 displaces 8500 lb. which Beta is preferred: 14 or 16? What prop? Do Beta engines have self-bleeding fuel systems similar to Westerbeke? Thank you very much.

Doing research on a dripless system for the new shaft and engine ....for a dry bilge... The PSS sounds like the way to go...they are advising (On a Catalina 30) to connect a T in the raw water inlet for a water line to go to the vent connection on the PSS due to air bubbles in the stern tube on these Catalinas....
