Is there a minimum RPM for the BV 1505 that is recommended to prevent carbon build-up?

A friend has a beta 38 engine and the Manual says it should run at 80 deg C. but he's never seen it above 70 deg C. Running engines cooler than optimum may cause problems in the long term ? In general, what views are there on running engines at lower temperatures?

would like to repower. Original was MD7A 2 cylinder Volvo. Temporary refitted with Universal diesel, not sure of engine number, but 25 hp, 3 cylinder. Love the extra power of the universal and the closed cooling loops. Time for a new engine, transmission, and engine room design. some questions: 1....
