I am repowering from a Volvo MD6a to a Beta 16. The old engine was using 5/8" raw water intake hose. The Beta uses a larger hose (7/8?) Do I need to replace my thru-hull to a larger diameter to better match the larger size hose, or can I use an adapter?
OK, one other dumb question. What size thru-hull do I get for 3/4" flow. Does a 3/4" thru-hull indicate 3/4" flow or 3/4" thread with a smaller flow diameter? Thanks in advance.
A 3/4" thru-hull and valve indicates 3/4" pipe thread which is quite a bit larger than actual 3/4". When you order your valve and thru hull, ask for a full flow 3/4" valve and you should have all the water flow that you need.
