Wet Exhaust Size for BV3300

The previous owner repowered with the 3300.
Current set up is 2 1/2 " ID off off engine manifold. Length one foot. Connected via adaptor to 3" ID. Length 3 feet to 3" water lift muffler. 3" ID come off muffler to adapter and back to 2 1/2". Final length of 2 1/2" ID is 18 feet to rear of boat.
The final length (18 feet) is in need of replacement as it was with the original engine. Everything in front including muffler was installed with the BV3300.
Should I upsize to 3" or stay with 2 1/2 ". Engine has 550 hrs and seems to run fine with the existing 2 1/2"
Thanks

Hello Chip,
I would go with 3". Although the 2-1/2" is working now, it is marginal on such a long run and may cause exhaust valve problems later in the engines life.
