I just inherited a 20 foot wood sailboat that has been sitting in a barn for the past 25 years. The boat is in excellent shape but the Atomic 2, 10 HP was removed and has been sitting on the floor of the barn. It is currently in my garage. Rather than recondition it, I would like to replace it with diesel that could be easily retrofited. I'm looking into the Beta 10. Anyone had any experience with this kind of a swap?
This is actually quite a common change out. Many of the older Folkboats has the Atomic 2 and as parts have dried up for these engines, they have been replaced with the Beta 10 or Beta 14. We can supply these engines with the correct mounts to fit on the same engine beds as the A2.
