Antifreeze Capacity BV-1505

The spec info in my BV-1505 manual lists the antifreeze capacity as 7 liters.
How accurate is this figure?
I changed the antifreeze this weekend and was able to get about 7 liters including the reservoir which holds about half a gallon.
Did I get all the old antifreeze?
Should I have warmed the engine prior to draining?

Hello Mike,

The 7 Liters is an approximation.

If you drained from the block tap you did the best you can do. The engine will retain a bit of coolant if it is set in at a steep angle. Warming the engine will not have an effect on drainage.

A small amount of residual coolant will not effect cooling efficiency.

More important is to keep the ratio at between 33-50%. The less anti freeze used the better the heat transfer efficiency.
