Balmar Alternator Pulley

Hi,

I have a Beta 28 (1005) with the standard alternator and the wide grooved belt. I have a new 60 series Balmar alternator with the standard V belt pulley that I would like to keep as a spare. Is it possible for me to change the V belt pulley for the wide belt pulley and do you sell the pulley?

Thanks

If you have the polyvee belt (serpentine belt) on the standard alternator, you can take the pulley from that alternator and fit it onto the Balmar. You will have to put a different spacer shim between the back of the pulley and the alternator to get the correct belt alignment.

Be very carefull when you fit the Balmar because of clearance between the positive pulley and the front of the exhaust manifold. Balmar make an alternator specially for Beta Marine with a side terminal.

To answer you original question, yes, we keep these pulleys in stock but as I said above, you shouldn't need a new one.

Stanley
