Pressure buildup in ZF transmission on Beta 60

Whenever we remove the filler to check the oil level in the transmission, there is a hiss.  I think it is air escaping.

No difference whether the engine is warm or cold.  It happened when the engine was new form the factory, and every time since

We tried changing the shiny wobbly vent, but this made no difference.

What is causing the hiss?

Does it matter?

I have no idea of what spec engine you have or which transmission is installed. If you are getting air sucked into the transmission, this points to the vent not working correctly.
