no response to start button ABVW panel

Hello,

Beta 16.

Panel is lighted whenever heat button depressed.

Start button  does work  perhaps 1 out of 6 tries (and engine cranks and starts instantly; stop button works fine too).

No funny noises whatsoever from solenoid (eg no clicking).

Connections look good everywhere I can see including solenoid.

Start testing at the button? Swap it out?

Thanks for any advice.

This certainly sounds like a faulty button or connection.
Remove and refit the two wire terminals on the button as this will clean the terminals incase of any corrosion.
An ohm meter should be used to test the button.
If the button is faulty, replace it. If the button tests good, check the relay.
There is a section in the operators manual on how to trouble shoot the water resistant panels.
