Hi, just bought a narrow boat with a beta 35 diesel engine, which is very loud , I've searched the Internet for information on valve clearances but can't find any. Does anyone out there know the valve clearances for the beta 35, bv1305 engine.Any Imput would be much appreciated. Thanks

These engines are not noisy by diesel engine standards. It is possible that your engine compartment is acting like a sound amplifier and if this is the case, some intelligently placed sound absorbing material will help tremendously.
Valve clearances on these engines is .145 to .185mm (inlet and exhaust).
