Sticking stop lever on a Beta 16

When I go from forward into neutral to shift into reverse, the throttle lever seems to move the stop lever and stops the engine.  This has happened at the worst possible time.  Any idea what could cause this and how to remedy the situation?

thanks

Dan

Hello Dan,

The action of the throttle lever is wholly separate from the stop lever action.

Without a photo, I can only assume the cable and/or linkage is improperly aligned and pushing on the stop lever. An adjustment of the cable and linkage is recommended.

Thanks for the reply,  is there supposed to be some kind of spring on the stop lever?  I do not see one there now.

There is a light spring on the stop lever action. It is internal. You will not be able to see it.
