Glow Plug

Morning, I have a Beta 20 and the "c" type controls. I am wondering about the glow plug for warming the fuel. As I was recently pulling the boat for the winter I went to start the engine and being cold it had a very hard time getting started. I tried turning the key to the heat position and it seemed to have no effect. Looking at the engine itself I don't see any sign of wiring to a glow plug near the injectors. Looking at the Beta operating manual I saw reference to the glow plug but no part number in the document if you needed to replace it.

any insight appreciated.

Hello Steve,

The procedure in cold weather is to hold the key in the heat position for 8 seconds and then turn the key to start. The engine should then be running almost immediately.
The glow plugs are there between the injectors and the valve cover. They are quite well hidden by the water tube.

Took a look and I think I can see the glow plugs tucked in there under the tube.

What wiring should go to these plugs? I see one large gauge wire attached to plug. There is a smaller gauge wire with a connector sticking up connected to nothing. I'm wondering if this should be connected to the glow plug.

I have attached a photo.

Thanks.

There is only one wire connected to the glow plugs.
Please check the wiring diagram diagram in the owners manual.
The plug that you refer to connects to the stop solenoid.
Some paint needs to come off the other wire to identify what color it is.
