Electric STOP not working

The electric stop on my Beta 16 recently started to require longer pushes of the button for the engine to stop. This weekend it seems to have completely stopped working. How do I troubleshoot the system to determine if it is the solenoid, the button, or something in between?

The stop is electrically operated. Check for constant power to the solenoid connection when the stop button is pushed. The electric solenoid operates a mechanical linkage. Check that the linkage is being pulled in fully by the solenoid. Operate the stop linkage by hand and check if the engine shuts off quicker. Lastly, call or e-mail us at Beta marine and we will discuss any other suggestions and solutions.

Thanks Farron. The mechanical linkage is working fine and does turn off the engine.  I will check the electrical part. If I cannot find the issue I will reach out by email.
