connecting a remote tach

I am installing a VDO ViewLine Onyx 4,000 RPM tach (mod# A2C53194596-S) as a remote tach in my ****pit. Engine is Beta 20 w/120A alternator and B control panel (engine installed summer 2018.) The remote tach is only about 8 inches aft of the control panel tach (on the other side of a bulkhead.) Can I get some installation (electrical connection) advice?

Thanks

The VDO Viewline gauge we use comes with 8 way connector, I am assuming it will be similar on the one to be fitted as a second tacho.

Either way, I am sure the fundamentals will be the same.  New tacho will require switched positive, ground and pulse.

On our panels these would be:

Switched positive: take from control panel green lamp white wire, typical Viewline connection red, brown &  blue/red

Panel ground: take from control panel green lamp black wire, typical Viewline connection black

Pulse, connect to control panel blue/black wire, typical Viewline connection green

Hope this helps.

Thanks for that quick reply - I'm sure I will have a follow-up question once I am at the boat tomorrow!
