I sail on the great lakes and have a beta 25. In fresh water, magnesium is recommended rather than zinc for sacrificial anodes, Beta does not offer a magnesium anode for the heat exchanger and I cannot find one that would fit elsewhere. I don't know that I have corrosion, but I would like the security of correct protection for my conditions. Any suggestions? BTW, my bronze plug is not threaded to receive replaceable anodes; the provided zinc is a friction fit. My back-up idea is to buy a 3/8" rod (sold for use in water heaters) and fabricate my own magnesium anodes.
Welcome to the forum. We currently do not have any magnesium anodes and we are looking for a supplier.
We do have other Bz anode caps here that are made in the US for us. These do have a thread unlike the British ones.
