My P365 hull 222 has original Westerbeke 4-107 with V drive. Are there any suggestions for repowering with a Beta engine?

Stanley, Since my engine has been out of service for 3 plus years you have recommended pulling the injector pump and having it serviced. started engine for first time today. trans. wont go in forward. atf fluid where it should be. disconneted control cables and moved lever by hand. goes into reverse but not in forward. nothing blocking movement of lever. do they check these before they send them out the door? help
