Any difference between the BD722 20 hp in green and the red version ? I have a new Contessa 32 with a red version and want to know it I should upgrade it before I put it into service Jim
The green line engines are specifically built for the inland waterways in Europe. These engines are keel cooled and have special large pulleys for the alternators. These engines are generally run all day at very low speed because of the low (4 MPH) speed in the canals. If these large pulleys were put on to an engine that reved up to 3,600, you would blow up the alternator.
