Cruising RPM for BV 1505/PRM120

I just purchased a Prout Catamaran with a BV 1505/PRM120 to a Sonic leg drive. I think it has a 15x17LT prop.

How do I determine the most ecconomical RPM and the maximum continuous RPM (if I need to run from weather) to run the motor.

This engine will be happy running at up to its rated max speed (3000RPM for the older 1505's and 3600 for the latest ones). As long as you can reach the rated speed in gear, you should have no issues.

Thanks. Do you have a recommended speed, or is max recommended?

I repeat, the engine will be happy running at any speed up to its rated maximum.

So Stan, would this be the same for a 2010 Beta 43 with 20hrs on it? Could I run this engine 'all day' at it's max of 2800rpm or should I run it at 80% ie- 2240rpm  as most other places say you should run a diesel engine.
just askin' and thanks
Tom
