Weeping around zinc.

I have noticed a very small leak around my engine zinc.
The only evidence was was a bit of barely noticeable steam while I was running the engine at the dock after a month of remaining idle.
I recently replaced the zinc and tightened it as much as I could.
Can I use teflon tape around the threads to help seal the fitting?
I have a BV-1505.
Thanks for any help.

Hello Mike,

A bit of teflon tape will help here. Please dont use too much as you still want metal to metal contact for the zinc to do its work properly. The zinc housing threads will cut through one or two wraps of teflon tape to make the contact and the tape should seal your leak nicely.
