Time to replace the Atomic 4. My Columbia 8.7 displaces 8500 lb. which Beta is preferred: 14 or 16? What prop? Do Beta engines have self-bleeding fuel systems similar to Westerbeke? Thank you very much.
The Beta 14 will just get you to 6Knots and the 16 will provide a good reserve. Working with the 16, the prop called for is 12"x9"x three blade with 50% BAR. These engines all now have a self bleeding fuel system.
