Pearson 35

I have heard nothing but good things about your engines. I am looking to put power in a Pearson 35 that originally had a Westerbeke, not an Atomic 4. The engine is no longer with the boat and from what I understand, the engine bed arrangement was different than the Atomic 4. Would your 28 fit without alterations?

Hello and welcome. You must expect to make some modifications as the mount arrangement on the old Westerbeke 30 is strange by todays standards. We can build special engine mounts (feet) for you to fit the 4 individual mount pods that the W30 mounted on or you can modify your engine beds to accept a modern engine.

You can get the drawing for the special mounts on this page of our website   http://www.betamarinenc.com/Special%20feet%20details.pdf     If you measure carefully and put the results down on the drawing on page 3 of the custom mount arrangement, we can produce a drawing of the special mounts. You then need to check this drawing against your boat to make sure that the custom mounts will be correct.

You can use either the Beta 25 or Beta 28 in this boat and have the same performance. Either will give you a bit more than hull speed and very relaxed cruising.

Regards, Stanley

I dont know why the link above wont work. Please use copy and paste to get to the correct web page or alternatively, from the engine models page of our website, click on custom mounts to get the page.
