cleaning Beta Marine fogged gauge lenses.

Hello in Arapahoe!  My 30' sailboat, up the river in New Bern, has a 2006 Beta 20 model 722 and, I think, the upgrade gauges and control package located in the ****pit.  Two gauges have fogged from the inside.  I think they are the temperature and oil pressure gauges.   What could cause this?

Is there a way to uncsrew the glass covers and clean the glass?

Thanks for your advice!

Hello in New Bern. Unfortunately the lenses and bezels are not removable.

As you are not far away can we possibly take some photos of these gauges or can you supply them?
Can we also get a photo of the panel showing it's installation in the boat.

Sure Stanley.  There's a race on the 17th, so I'll be in NB then and will email you some pictures after that. Thanks.

Attached is a photo of the fogged gauges taken last weekend.  The barometric gauge and temperature gauge are the worst.  Any suggestions how to clean the fooged lenses?

Peter,

These lenses are plastic, not glass, and I suspect that as the panel is in the ****pit with possible direct assault from the sun, the lenses have clouded a bit from the sunshine. You may be able to polish the cloudyness out with a bit of jewellers fine polish.
