We have a Beat 38 with duel alternators. The factory moved the oil change pump to the back left side of the engine. It is in the way of installing the fitting for the heater or reservoir tank.
Are there any consequences if I take off this oil pump changer from the heat exchanger and slide it over to install a fitting under the heat exchanger for the cool water return from the hot water heater or reservoir tank?
Then we would re-install the pump back in place.
This a picture from your site of the fitting to install, as you can see the pump is in the way.

Hello, It is really the special mounts on the flywheel housing that are in the way but there is no problem with removing and then refitting the oil change pump.
If you want to re-site the oil change pump to another location (possibly on a bulkhead), we can provide a longer hose if you want. Stanley
So do you not think we can get the fitting into this location? Could we have the hose barb facing to the side instead of the rear of the motor? Is there another location that would work? Thanks, Chip
The oil pump can easily be removed or even repositioned if required. It is fastened to the side of the heat exchanger by a bracket using two nuts as shown in the photo.
The problem you will encounter is the set of custom rear mounts that were installed on your engine. The port mount is obstructing access to the return port under the heat exchanger.
If the mount can be removed temporarily, you will then have access to the port under the heat exchanger and can install the 90 degree elbow and hose barb. While it is obvious the custom mount will obstruct the orientation of the fitting, I cannot say how much as I am unfamiliar with the design of the mounts.
