This next couple months is when I have to redo my water lift muffler, after being advised that the one currently installed is too small...
I have attached some pics of the same installation in a Cat30 of the Centek muffler #1500027 a side in top out design.
This sounds like the correct sizing, my question is : I would like to install mine with the inlet pointing directly aft , and feeding the inlet with a 90 ...the thought being that on a hard heel it would be harder for the water to back flow toward the engine.....
Any advice appreciated, (I have not ordered the muffler yet) if you have any other suggestions....I am not sure but dont think a top in top out would fit ...
there is a westerbeke hi-rise exhaust elbow on the back of the beta20.
We would recommend the Centek 1500120 water lift with the side in and top out.
We would recommend against a 90 degree fitting between the exhaust and the muffler. The restriction introduced by a 90 degree fitting in your exhaust is equivalent to many feet of added exhaust hose.
This arrangement has been used succesfully many times in the Cat 30.
