Hello,

the tachometer on my beta 16 oscillates above 2000 rpm within 100 to 200 rpm, but no change in sound of engine

Hello,

The tach gets its signal from the alternator.

The first things to check are the connections from the W terminal on the alternator to the tach on the panel. This is the blue wire with a black tracer. Check that the wire is properly crimped in the terminals at the multipin plug for the engine harness on the starboard rear of the engine (just under the air filter).

The second thing is to check the alternator is consistant.
