Some drops of oil

Hello,

I had been looking at an second hand Beta 20 in prospect of a cheap repowering, but after some time running I noticed some drops of oil coming out of the accelerator´s lever shaft (fuel injection pump). What kind of oil seal does it have in that place?. Is easy to change it?.

Thanks,

Hello Tormentin,

The shaft in the speed control plate is sealed with a small o-ring. This o-ring is a replacement part.

The speed control plate will need to be removed and the throttle shaft disassembled to replace the o-ring. You will also need a new gasket under the speed control plate when you reassemble.

The internal arm of the speed control applies tension to a governor spring. Use caution that you do not stretch the governor spring or drop the spring into the engine when removing and replacing the speed control plate.

Alternatively, the speed control plate can be replaced as an entire assembly.

Good luck!
