My problem: if I start my Betamarine 35 hp , the temperature run quickly to overheating , alarm is activated and often , after 1 minute it drops to normal. Sometimes the alarm keep sounding , very anoying. I am pretty sure the real temperature is normal. normal water flow, anti freeze etc. So I think its the sender, wire or something else.
Who recongnise this problem and what was the solution.
You really haven't provided enough information so I will take a few educated guesses in my reply.
I think that you have more than one issue.
It is very possible that the thermostat is sticking but you may have an issue with not enough coolant in the engine.
How old is the engine?
How many hours are on it?
Is this a new problem?
Has anything been done to the engine installation recently?
Do you have a hot water heater (calorifier) fitted?
Is a coolant recovery bottle fitted?
The engine is from the year 2001 and run 4100 miles , well serverd. Last year a new boiler /calorifer is installed which is heated by the engine 1,5 year ago. It quit a new problem. It looks if as the thermostate is sticked , yes. There is no recovery bottle fitted.
Yesterday i read that a cannot use 100% coolant, which I did last time. Can this be the problem ? I will replaced it for a coolant which is mixed with water
The normal coolant mix is 50% anti freeze to 50% water.
I suggest that you also fit a new pressure cap and a coolant recovery bottle.
Let us know how you get on.
