What spec is the engine that you are looking at? We build engines with many different transmission options and mounting feet arrangements so unless you provide the WOC number (this begins with a K ) or an engine serial number I cannot help you.
I believe that the BV1305 (Beta 35) has the same dimensions as the BV1505 (Beta 38) that I put in my boat. I was replacing a Volvo Penta MD17D, which I believe to have the same basic dimensions as the MD17C that you mention. You should verify my "same dimensions" understanding, but I can say for sure that I could not "drop in" the Beta 38 in place of the MD17D. I opted to have the engine bed stringers modified (fattened toward the centerline) to support the Beta's narrower feet, but there was also the option to have Beta supply special feet brackets to match my old Volvo mount points. Given that I have a relatively steeply-angled prop shaft (~15°) requiring both a down-angle transmission and mounting the engine on a down angle, I wasn't confident in my ability to measure for special brackets accurately enough in three dimensions to end up with the flange properly aligned to the prop shaft, and so opted to have my installer modify the engine bed stringers.
