Hello, I have a question about the way this alternator bolts up to the engine. There is a long bolt that the alternator pivots on and a spacer that the bolt goes through behind the motor mount that takes up the gap between the motor mount for the alternator, and the place where the long bolt screws into the alternator. There are no other spacers... when this long bolt is tight the alternator still has forward and back play.. about 1/4
I may have answered my own question....but would like confirmation. It appears that the nut that is captive in the iskra alternator flange can move.... so insert the spacer and tighten the allenhead capscrew to pull the nut in, eliminating the gap. If someone could chime in it would be much appreciated. It appears to have moved a little, but it required quite a bit of force on the allen wrench to make this happen. I don't want to break something.
This is a new alternator, but same model as old
Thanks..
