Coolant change-out Betamarine 25

I have a good-running Betamarine25 in my Olson 34 sloop. Installed in 2018 and very lightly used (Due to the recent pandemic that greatly reduced our boating). It's been enough time that it seems like the coolant perhaps should be replaced. Is there an efficient way to introduce new coolant into the engine while catching the old coolant at some exit point?

FWIW I have very good access to the top, front, and port side of the engine. Not so much to the starboard side.

(I would like to avoid using drains and then having air locks in various parts of the block to contend with.)

If there is a video about this, please point me to the link.

Thanks very much.

Hello LB-PDX,

In short, no.

Run the engine for a minute to mix up the coolant but not long enough to get the coolant hot. Drain from the valve provided on the stbd side of the engine.

Add Rotella ELC coolant until the heat exchanger is full. Wait awhile, until the coolant drops. Refill again. Wait and refill if it goes down much. Put on the cap and start the engine, let it run for about **30 seconds** . Stop the engine and check coolant level. Refill and repeat until the coolant level in the tank stays up. Check coolant level again the day after after you run the engine for the first time.

Never remove a coolant cap on an engine that has been run long enough to heat the coolant.
