I am considering a Beta 16 purchase. I see the possibility of two different gearbox choices. The TMC40 and PRM80. The 2:1 ratio seems to be the ideal according to my use of the prop calculator. What are the differences/advantages (features and benefits) of these?

Stan - Should I leave the tranny in nuetral, forward or reverse when sailing with the engine turned off? Thanks

Hi All- I have a 1505 with the 100 amp alternator that I am trying to connect a Balmar ARS-5 regulator to- has anyone connected up a Balmar regulator to the 100 amp alternator, and if so, which terminal is the field terminal? Thanks! John

I have a new BD-1505 that I'm delighted with. But...I have a big house bank and a dedicated starter battery. With the old Balmar alternator and controller I started the engine with the engine battery and the alternator charged the house bank only and a combiner fed juice to the starter battery as neede...
