I have a BD1005 engine with a high output alternator installed two years ago. After raising the sail (noisy, windy conditions) I pressed the kill button and turned off the key. I am considering a Beta 16 as a replacement for a late 1960s Volvo MD1. How close is the footprint? This is in an Elizabethan 29 built by Wauquiez in 1967.

I'm having a hard time getting all data together. But it seems the Beta would be lighter (how much?) and have better fuel economy (up to 2x better I think). What about vibration? What about power (vs rpm)? what about the sail drive compatibility on thruhull "hole"? I assume I need the beta sa...

I'm the new owner of a BZ482 in a Cal 25 MkII. Does anyone have estimated fuel consumption data for this engine? I realize that numerous variables will affect actual consumption, but some general gph numbers (if available) would be appreciated. Thanks.

Is the ULSD ok to use in a new Beta diesel? I do not know if this is what they are selling at the marinas, but I occassionally get boat fuel where I get my auto diesel fuel and I know this is the ULSD. Brad
