the stop solenoid in my 3 yr old engine suddenly stopped working. the problem was that the piston was sticking when the solenoid was energized. i removed the solenoid and lubed it, and it now works. is this a common problem? is routine maintence of this warranted? where can i get a replacement?

I will be installing my new BD1005 this spring. I would like to move to a single lever control, in particular on that mounts on the steering pedestal. Many of the newer French sailboats are equipped this way. I have not been able to find a pedestal mounted control unit. Do you have any suggestions? Thank...
