I appreciate the reply. I have a Volvo MD2 that runs well, but parts are very hard to find and now the transmission is wanting to lock in gear..... I think a new Beta would be the answer.

We junked our troublesome Volvo and installed a Beta 60 two years ago.
Very pleased with it (so far of course)
Starts first bang, even when we were in water slightly below freezing in the Arctic. I used the glow plugs once, to test them, but never since.
Mechanically it is much quieter than the unreliable Volvo 2003T we had before.
Our previous boat was a Volvo MD2B. the Beta is MUCH quieter that it
I believe you are in the US. Suggest you buy Beta form a local Beta dealer, if close by, if not contact the US distributor, who runs this board. We are in Europe, but hear god things about them.
