What is your recommendation on using a scoop on the raw water thru hull vs. no scoop? My inclination is to not use a scoop. The reasoning being that it is easier to clean the thru hull opening. My yard says the scoop keeps debris out of the engine but I would think my Vetus raw water strainer would do a very go...

What is the raw water hose ID for the Beta43? My current raw water setup (for the old engine) used 1" ID hose. I would rather stick with 1" ID hose, as my raw water filter is also 1". If the pump barb is smaller on the Beta43 can a 1" barb be substituted? Thanks!
